Hero Honda Splendor NXG 100cc: Revisiting a Classic Commuter (2010)

By the Bharat Auto Insights Editorial Team · Last reviewed 17 October 2026

The Splendor NXG was a more modern-looking version of the hugely popular Splendor, sold by Hero Honda around 2007–2010. It kept the Splendor's proven 97cc engine and reliability while adding fresher styling for younger buyers.

Why it mattered

The Splendor family was one of India's best-selling motorcycles. The NXG aimed to keep that loyalty while competing with more stylish rivals, offering a sleeker tank, updated graphics and alloy wheels.

Hero Honda to Hero

The Hero and Honda joint venture ended in 2011, after which the company became Hero MotoCorp and Honda continued independently in India. The Splendor name stayed with Hero.

Today's equivalent

The Splendor line continues in updated forms. See our commuter bike shortlist for current options.
